On September 22, 2012, at a formal ceremony at the Church of Our Lady of the Lake in Lake Ozark, Missouri, I was made a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. This is an order of chivalry that dates back to the Crusades and continues to this day in the Church as a papal honor. It functions principally now to support the growth in faith and holiness of its members and to offer spiritual and temporal support to the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Christians of the Holy Land.
Here is a description of the order from the website of the Holy See.
Here is the order's own website. Remember from now on that we have a family connection to the cause of peace in the Holy Land and pray that I don't ever have to ride a horse over there.
